Countless have visited the cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar,
But I bet only a handful have been on the roof of it!
It was around sunset time,
Crystal clear autumn sky with barely a trace of cloud.
The wind was cold, but the view was amazing.
The Mediterranean Sea to the south,
And mountains all around the other directions.
So many “first times” since I have been in Barcelona,
And this has to be one of the most exclusive.
I still have moments when I find myself surprised that I’m in Barcelona,
Whether walking around the medieval streets of the Old Town,
Or simply taking the bus from university to home.
And this has to be one of the most exclusive.
I still have moments when I find myself surprised that I’m in Barcelona,
Whether walking around the medieval streets of the Old Town,
Or simply taking the bus from university to home.
Will I ever get over being amazed by this city?
Love,
Claire
P.S.
In the past week,
We also visited the Picasso Museum.
I think he had ADD of artistic styles.
He jumped from the classical to the abstract,
And dabbled everywhere in between.
Then we had tapas with wine in a little square.
*Sigh*… what a hard life the Spanish live…
You really like writing in poem format. It looks good on the blog.
Glad you are having a wonderful time in Barcelona!
Sometimes I forget that I am actually in California, strangely.
