Today I realized that I forgot to publish this post from my drafts. It actually comes before “Old Residents”, but oh well, I enjoyed this night, and would like to share with you…

After missing the last metro, taking a half-hour bus ride, getting off at the wrong stop, and walking through the rain for half hour more, we finally arrived at the Marina, where the clubs lined the street, and people are drinking, dancing, and smoking hookah.
We went into a Latin dance club named Salsa, I know, original right? But the music was great, and the people… wow, I felt like I was in the movie Dirty Dancing. I never knew how amazingly the human body can express the emotion of love. There is actually nothing dirty about it, just love all around. Everyone was soooo good at Latin dances, we just sat on the couch, enjoyed our Mojitos, and oohed and aahed at their expertise. Now there are some guys who can shake what their mama gave them! And it is true, if a guy can dance, even if he is not so good looking, he is sexy. There was especially a group of few boys and a girl, they were just amazing. To watch them dance is addictive, my eyes were glued on them the whole night.
The music was intoxicating, you can’t help but move your body with the rhythm. A couple of guys came to ask me to dance. I declined the first one because I simply was too far off the level that everyone else was on. But the second simply wouldn’t take no for an answer. He led me some basic side steps, and we had a good dance. I think he tried to talk to me, but the music was too loud, and my ears are still ringing, even now.
The Mojito was very strong, even after getting home, writing this post, I’m still feeling quite “brilla”, which is Italian for tipsy. I wish so much to be able to dance like the girl tonight. Maybe I will set that as my goal for this year — to learn to salsa.
Sam, only if you become on a dancer over this year… but I love you nonetheless.
Love, dance, and sing,
Claire
Hmmm, must work on dance moves. Save that for the weekend 🙂
