I’ve been trying to think of something to blog but things have been a bit mundane.
Let’s see… since the last post…
1. had the Chinese New Year party that resulted in a noise complaint from the neighbor upstairs.
2. successfully threw a surprise birthday party, who knew I could keep a secret!
3. …well, I guess nothing else really exciting happened.
Last year this time, I was sitting in Zack’s basement, glued to the TV watching Puppy Bowl VI.
This year I can only watch clips on the internet. There is even a puppy called CB, how cute is that!
Yesterday we received thesis proposals from our second institutes. There are many topics to choose from, but I have tentatively narrowed it down to the following two:
1. Improvement of Non-Destructive Testing method: Tube-Jack testing for irregular or large masonry.
2. Diagnosis of aging steel structures.
The first one I have worked with in college, have a basic understanding and some experience, but is less useful if I want to work in the states since most buildings are steel and concrete. The second one is likely more useful for work in the States, but I chose the historic field to get away from the cold steel structures…
ahh….decisions decisions….any one has any input???
Do it! (not saying which one)
